All seed is grown, inspected and
certified under the Auspices of the
South Africa Potato Seed Certification Service, in strict accordance with the generation advance flush-out system.
Our departmentally accredited analytical laboratory is staffed by highly
experienced and motivated personnel, who execute the full range of mandatory
diagnostic tests conducted to ensure that each and every consignment
consistently upholds the superior quality associated with our organization.
Our laboratory also serves as quality check for
Coen Bezuidenhout Seed
Testing Centre in Roodeplaat.
Our close ties and shareholding in Rascal Seed Research Laboratories, a
sister company, specializing in tissue culture propagation of nuclear potato
plantlets and minituber production, enables us to confine our efforts to the
production of early generation seed with unique phytosanitary tolerances.
In addition to generic South African varieties, we are the exclusive agents
for HZPC, Holland. As a result of our ongoing evaluation program, we
have successfully introduced a suite of HZPC cultivars able to consistently
outperform peers in specialized applications and under widely divergent
climatologically environments. It is this combination of geographic
suitability, extensive infrastructure as well as our holistic approach to
seed production that qualifies us to purvey potato seed of outstanding
physiological integrity and extremely phytosanitary standards.
WVAMK prides itself that it implements even higher standards as proposed by
the Potato Seed Certification Service. Not only do we implement these
high standards, we also guarantee minimum and maximum tuber counts.
